Broadstone Warren, Sussex
Demolition of changing room, wash facilities and water tower
BCC Demolition had been appointed as principal contractor to conduct the demolition & enabling works at Broadstone Warren. This was in preparation for installation of new welfare facilities for this large camp site which is owned and run by the Scouts association in Forest Row, West Sussex.
The works included notifiable asbestos removal, internal soft strip of the toilet and shower blocks followed by demolition of buildings located around the camp site in different locations to include a redundant, iconic steel frame water tower 3 stories high, which required dismantling using hot cutting techniques by BCC specially trained and experienced burners working from MEWPS in safe and organised sequence.
The project was complete within the contract programme and handed over to our sister company to complete the sub-structure phase of the works, in preparation for delivery of the prefab units supplied by Wintec.
